Adam Gwon is an American composer and lyricist. He attended New York University鈥檚 Tisch School of the Arts. For his work, Gwon has received the Fred Ebb Award, the Richard Rodgers Award, the Kleban Award, and the Frederick Loewe Award, among others. His songs have been sung by celebrated performers such as Audra McDonald and Kelli O鈥橦ara in venues such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. He served on the Tony Award Nominating Committee for several years, and he is on the board of Roundabout Theatre Company.
Gwon鈥檚 most notable work is his 2008 musical Ordinary Days, a four-person song cycle that follows the chain of events that is begun when Deb, a flustered graduate student, loses the notes to her thesis. To get them back, she must deal with and learn from artist and professional cat-sitter Warren. In the meantime, 30-something Claire is trying to decide whether she can pack up all her past emotional baggage and marry her boyfriend Jason. Ordinary Days has had two off-Broadway engagements and has been celebrated by publications such as the New York Times and the LA Times.
