Synopsis
It’s the height of 2004 and eighth-grader Shelby Hinkley, president of the Tobey Maguire Fan Club, has devoted her life to the only thing that matters: Spiderman. She decides to risk it all for love by kidnapping famous actor Tobey Maguire and marrying him in her basement. Once she has Tobey in her clutches, her fantastical obsessions begin to crumble as she realizes that Tobey might not be the charismatic heartthrob that she thought. Shelby tries to cope with the absence of her father, the neglect of her mother, ridicule of her classmates, and her obsession, while Tobey tries to escape his #1 fan. A Y2K dark comedy farce, I’m Gonna Marry You, Tobey Maguire, is a non-stop one act which has fantastic parts for comedy actors.
