Henry Purcell鈥檚 The Fairy-Queen, if performed in full, is a massive undertaking. It is essentially an opera that fits between scenes adapted from Shakespeare鈥檚 A Midsummer Night鈥檚 Dream. In its original format it requires a full cast of singers, a full cast of actors, and a full cast of dancers to perform the masques.
