Plot

A massive crowd gathers in front of Hollywood鈥檚 Chinese Theatre, hoping to catch a glimpse of the actors arriving for a star-studded premiere of the latest Lockwood & Lamont picture, The Royal Rascal. The dashing Don Lockwood and the lovely Lina Lamont - the stars of the picture - are being questioned by gossip columnist Doris Bailey. During the interview, they are joined by Don鈥檚 old vaudeville partner, Cosmo Brown, and Dora persuades Don and Cosmo to perform for the crowd (鈥淔it as a Fiddle鈥�). Frustrated that she is no longer the center of attention, Lina storms off, followed by her agent Roz. R. F. Simpson, the producer of the film, congratulates everyone on a job well done. Everyone agrees that Lina shouldn鈥檛 talk to the press as her voice is high-pitched, nasal, and very off putting. Lina keeps referring to Don as her fiance, but he firmly denies that there is anything between them. Don decides to walk to the afterparty to get some fresh air, and sends Cosmo in his car to
