Overview
Synopsis
Based on the hit holiday classic song, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer brings one of the most beloved characters of all time to stages everywhere. Rudolph wants nothing more than to be just like the other reindeer, but his bright red nose seems to always get in the way! With everyone at the North Pole picking on him for his differences, he feels like nothing but a misfit. Rudolph sets off on a journey to find a place where he belongs. Along the way, he meets other misfits who show Rudolph that he was always right where he belonged right at the North Pole. When Santa鈥檚 big night is at risk of being ruined by a storm, Rudolph is finally able to show everyone how his differences are what truly make him special.
This show is a Theatre for Young Audiences version and has a 90-minute run time. This run time includes a 20-minute intermission between the acts.

Context
Rudolph first came to life in the 1964 TV movie Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. This film was based on the hit Johnny Marks song of the same name. When it came time to choose the music for the film, they knew Johnny Marks was just the man for the job. He wrote seven additional songs including 鈥淎 Holly, Jolly Christmas鈥� and 鈥淪ilver and Gold,鈥� two songs that would become stand alone Christmas standards for years to come. Act One
The story begins with the narrator, a talking snowman named Sam, revealing that there once was a year where Christmas was almost canceled. He shows us the merriest place on Earth, Christmastown which resides at the North Pole, of course! Here is where Santa lives and works, preparing with his Elves for a successful Christmas.
