Context
It is the afternoon of Mrs. McLeavy鈥檚 funeral and her coffin stands in the McLeavy鈥檚 house, awaiting the arrival of the hearse. Her widowed husband stands by the coffin in mourning but he is interrupted by Mrs. McLeavy鈥檚 nurse, Fay. Unbeknownst to McLeavy, Fay convinced his late wife to change her will and leave all her money to Fay. Fay is conniving and greedy, and she has set out to marry McLeavy as soon as it is vaguely decent. Here, she plays on his emotions and strict Catholic beliefs to
