Context
A soldier returns from the WWI front to reunite with his fianc茅e, only to discover that she has jilted him for another man. The girl, Daisy, is nervous and guilty; the man, Jim, is ready to fight for his woman. But the soldier, Jack, cannot bring himself to fight--to the couple鈥檚 surprise, he accepts their engagement with his heartiest blessing, for he has determined to laugh on this sunny day, and nothing can stop his good cheer.
