(Enter Matt)
Matt: Yes.
Bette: Would you move this for me? (Indicates dead baby on the floor. He gingerly places it offstage.) Your father鈥檚 gone away. All the babies are dead. You鈥檙e the only thing of value left in my life, Skippy.
[... ... ...]
END: Matt: All right. (Bette starts to leave.)
Bette: (Suddenly tearful) I don鈥檛 want to call you Matt.
Matt: That鈥檚 all right. It鈥檚 fine. I鈥檒l be in to read to you in a minute, okay?
Bette: Okay. (Bette exits)
