The titular rover Willmore, a rogue and charmer, has taken down the picture of Angellica Bianca, a famous and strikingly beautiful courtesan. This picture hung outside her house as advertisement that she is looking for a new suitor, someone willing to pay a hefty sum. By taking down her picture, Willmore insulted Angellica, and she demanded that he see her in her apartments (an action which Willmore鈥檚 friends begged him to avoid, as they are worried she will punish or even kill him).
