Context
Leduc is a French psychiatrist and former Army officer being held in a detention facility. As he awaits interrogation by the German military over his racial identity, he talks to Von Berg, an Austrian Prince. Von Berg is being held because of his accent and status as an aristocrat, but because he is Catholic he will almost certainly be let go. Leduc will be called in at any minute, and he knows it is likely that he will be sent to the gas chambers. As he reckons with his fate, he also struggles

Start: Von Berg: I wish we could have met under other circumstances. There are a great many things I’d like to have asked you.
Leduc: I’d appreciate it if you’d do me a favor.
Von Berg; Certainly.
