Context
George is a middle-aged history professor. He and his wife, Martha, have been entertaining Nick, a young biology professor at the same college, and his wife, Honey. Throughout the evening, Martha has been mocking and insulting George, who responds with passive-aggressive barbs of his own. The insults reached a fever pitch when Martha launched into the story of her courtship with George, pointedly remarking that he never lived up to his potential and instead became a 鈥渇lop.鈥� An incensed George
