Context
Gretl is a married woman. She married into a Jewish family, although her husband Hermann converted to Catholicism in order to marry her. However, Gretl cannot resist the charms of other men. After originally chaperoning her sister鈥檚 niece (Hana) on a date with Fritz, we now find Gretl in bed with him. She has been conducting an affair with him behind Hanna and her husband鈥檚 back and is plagued with guilt鈥longside excitement. She knows they must end their relationship but finds him too exciting
