Context
Tom is an American academic in his fifties. He has come to the O鈥橠onnell鈥檚 house to study the dying Irish Roman-Catholic aristocracy and has been studying every diary, record, and photograph he can find. Casimir has just arrived from Hamburg and he provides exactly the sort of anecdotes and obscure details of the family鈥檚 history that Tom is looking for.
