Ashbee and John Polk, two teenagers, met earlier in the evening at a low-scale bar in the French Quarter where John Polk was drinking in anticipation of his appointment with a prostitute at midnight on his birthday. About to turn 18, John Polk is dissatisfied and disgruntled about the state of his life, especially when it comes to college, romance, and friends. He belongs to a fraternity which he thought would help his social life, but instead his brothers do things like buy him appointments

Start: Ashbee: A lot of jerks live here. Come on in. My bones are cold. Do you want a towel to dry off? John Polk: Yes, thank you. Ashbee: I鈥檓 sorry the place is so disheveled, but my father鈥檚 been out of town. I always try to pick up and all before he gets in. Of course he鈥檚 pretty used to messes. My mother never was too good at keeping things clean. John Polk: When鈥檚 he coming back?
