Context
Gerardo is Cuban and the neighbor of Luis and Enrique. He has come to visit Luis, one of his few remaining friends in the neighborhood. He is saddened that everyone he knows has fled Cuba, and he feels lonely. Gerardo has often also thought of leaving Cuba, but knows that he would feel like a stranger in another country. LUIS mumbles
GERARDO: Luis, everyone I knew is gone.Everyone but you.
LUIS: Hmmm. Yes, Gerardo 鈥� Most of the ones close to me are gone too 鈥�
GERARDO: You may be leaving too.
LUIS: I don鈥檛 know, Gerardo. For some, it鈥檚 harder to leave. Francisquita left. All my brothers and sisters left. Cousins, uncles, nephews.
