Context
Hally, Sam, and Willie are reminiscing about the Jubilee Boarding House, an establishment Hally鈥檚 mother ran before she opened the George鈥檚 Park Tea Room. Sam and Willie have always been servants of Hally鈥檚 family, and in this scene, they recall their years together at the Boarding House, with Hally recreating the 鈥済eography鈥� of the back room where Sam and Willie lived to setting the scene with characters and actors on a typical afternoon.

HALLY: The old Jubilee Boarding House. Sixteen rooms with board and lodging, rent in advance and one week鈥檚 notice. I haven鈥檛 thought about it for donkey鈥檚 years 鈥� and I don鈥檛 think that鈥檚 an accident. God, was I glad when we sold it and moved out.

HALLY: Sam used to wink at me when you weren鈥檛 looking to show me it was time to let you win.
WILLIE: So then you two didn鈥檛 play fair.
HALLY: It was for your benefit, Mr. Malopo, which is more than being fair. It was an act of self-sacrifice.
