Context
Shane Mungitt is a relief pitcher that has just joined the Empires from the Minor Leagues. Eager to know more about him, Darren and Kippy approach the young man after a game to learn more about him. Shane is awkward and has poor language skills, struggling to express himself and his history--which is traumatic and deeply impactful. They are in the clubhouse after the game, with other players listening to the conversation.
