Hason has just returned home from a long day of work as a contractor for Armida. Medea meets him in the yard, wanting to make love, but when they begin to undress, Medea freezes; she is still processing the trauma from their crossing into the U.S. during which she was raped. Hason changes the subject to work, where he has gotten another promotion. Medea is suspicious of his close relationship with Armida, but Hason - dishonestly - assures her there is nothing going on.
