Context
Yang Sun is in a city park preparing to hang himself. He is a pilot without a plane, and is destitute, homeless and hopeless. A Pair of prostitutes pass by and interrupt his preparation. He sends them away. He’s interrupted again, this time by Shen Te, who stops him from killing himself. As it begins to rain, Shen Te shelters under a tree with Yang Sun, and falls in love with him during their conversation: he is a broken man, and she is in love with the idea of fixing him.
