Ralph has decided that today is the day for some action. He is fed up with his landlady and is restless. This is the first abduction of a young girl he describes to the audience, but it is clear that he has done this before. Ralph spots a young girl on the street and befriends her, before bundling her into his van. He didn鈥檛 bargain on her having secateurs, but decides to use them to his advantage. This abduction (and subsequent murder) forms the basis for the plot of the whole play.
